Each building will also have a time slot when the trick or treating is allowed so the kids then can have a list and go door to door within the building.
For adults, there is always the annual Halloween Parade in Greenwich Village with typical 50,000-60,000 costume visitors with music and dancers up Sixth Avenue of America.
